Class Descriptions

Infants

This is a time for tender nurturing. Each infant progresses through these early stages with staff encouraging each new area of development. From the ability of holding their head steady to rolling over or the very first step, infants are guarded and guided to success.

Toddler

This group is a busy bunch as they explore their environment. A never ending narrative of activities, by the teacher, along with music, stories and rhymes enhance language skills. Textures, climbing, dumping and moving items from place to place is a natural stage of development that keeps them learning. Craft projects are done, but most often the main creative project of the day is not product orientated. Experiences are what this age is about.

Twos

While providing a warm nurturing environment, this program focuses on self confidence, independence and the development of social skill. The loosely structured curriculum remains flexible to adapt to the rapid development of this age.

Threes

Self esteem, independence, socialization skills, following directions and creativity play a major role in the curriculum. A relaxed loving environment provides children the freedom to explore science, math, music, and language concepts. Toys, art, craft and circle time promote creativity, lengthened attention span, taking turns and lots of fun.

Fours and Fives

These classes prepare children for Kindergarten. In group situations, we establish an environment where children are comfortable to contribute to active group discussion, ask questions and give opinions. The tasks of the previous years are more closely defined as pencil control and conceptual skills mature. A gentle approach to beginning math, writing and pre reading skill is introduced. Creativity and friendships blossom.
